Ultimate Brownie Mix
We discovered this recipe while looking for German Chocolate Brownie recipes to make for my 40th birthday party...Oktoberfest theme, complete with sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels, and beer! Lots of beer...But the brownies turned out to be fantastic, and I liked that it created a dry mix you could make in advance & keep on hand for future brownie emergencies.
Ultimate Brownie Mix
851g 4 cups granulated sugar
207 g 1 cup brown sugar
6 g 1 teaspoon salt
140 g 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
253 g 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 4 ounce bars semisweet chocolate, finely chopped (optional)
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
Basic Ultimate Brownies
4 1/4 cups Ultimate Brownie Mix
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
12 tablespoons melted butter
*For a slightly more sophisticated brownie, add in a small pinch of cayenne pepper and a 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13×9 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix until well combined. Pour into the pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
